OBITUARY NEWSPAPTER CLIPPING john pogue, pa.
John L. Pogue, age 71, one of the first citizens of Pitcairn, Pa., passed away last Tuesday, January 21, 1936, at 5:45 a. m., at the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Mr. Pogue was born June 1, 1864 at Richmond Furnaceand his family moved to Orbisonia then later to Pittsburgh.His first employment was operating a stationery engine in Orbisonia.He was the son of John A. and Barbara Ann Yantz, former well known citizens of Orbisonia.For forty-six years Mr. Pogue was employed on the Pennsylvania Railroad.Since Mr Pogue has been pensioned he and his wife have spent their summers in Shirleysburg and Orbisonia.
Mr. Pogue is survived by his wife Jane Nelson Pogue, three daughters, Mrs. J.T. Harris, East McKeesport, Pa., Mrs. S. E. Snyder, Jr. Oak Park, Illinois., Mrs. G. T. Whiteman, Pitcairn, Pa. and one sone, JohnH. Pogue, of Pitcairn, also four grandchildren, Peggy and Jack Snyder, Jack and Billy Pogue.The following sisters and brothers alos survive:Mrs. Ann Creager, Orbisonia.
