Joseph W. Poe (b. 1849) and wife, Martha F. Burns (b.1855) were my gggrandparents. Their eldest son, Charlie Colin Poe (b. 1881) was my grandmother's (Mattie Emily, b.1910) father. I have been searching for a connection to Beverly Poe and Delaney Burns as well. Have we finally made one through the 1850 Census??
Joseph William Poe's younger son was indeed named Joseph William "Bud" Poe from Cumnock. He married Kate White. Both are buried at Mays Chapel Baptist Church (Chatham Co.).
I have a bit more information on this family should anyone need it.
