According to my analysis of the census records for Stokes/Forsyth Counties, Matthew Poe and Nancy Flynt married c. 1820 and were living in the household of Nancy's mother Elizabeth Flynt in Stokes County at the 1820 census. By 1830, Matthew was either dead without any issue from Nancy or he abandonded her as she appears to be still living with her mother and siblings in the household of her brother Proctor Flynt in Stokes County, and again in 1840 in the household of Elizabeth Flynt. By 1850, she was living in the household of Henry Shouse and Elizabeth Flynt Shouse, Nancy's sister, in Forsyth County.
Nancy resumed her maiden name, but added the middle initial "P" which seems to strongly indicate that the marriage was short lived with no issue.
As a correction to your post number 663, Nancy was the daughter of William Flynt and Elizabeth Ballard.
If you have information which is contrary to this, I would appreciate an opportunity to reconcile all of our research into this matter.
