Eric, After the 1850 Jefferson Co AL census I have not found the Poe family as a "unit". I have read the census over and over. Other Poe's are found but I could not place them. These Poe's may have been in AL by 1820. I am trying to find the "male head of household" the only one I have found is aCaliborn Poe on the 1840 Jefferson Co AL Census. By 1850 the male head of household is dead. I think Shelby County AL might be a good idea to check. As for your Poe's I think they are the later Poe's and if this Jesse is part of this particular household I will let you know.
I can follow the Poe's to Wiley T. Poe & his wife Nancy Josephine Watkins then I follow that line back several generations & out of AL. Which is the line I have been able to prove.I will not have time to read anymore microfilm until after Christmas.
Sorry I have nothing knew on the Poe's. I wish you and yours Happy Holidays. Ann
