I forgot to say, Christine, that I enjoyed hearing about Pocahontas's children, and speculating about them. Thank you so much for bringing us this information. The thing that's so great about these forums, and the mailing lists, is that we get to hear stories we never would have found anywhere else. Family legends make historical figures seem so much more alive and knowable.
There may be a lot of things that we can never know for sure, but it is a great pleasure to hear about them, and to do our best to track them down. This isn't a "mess" at all, at least, it isn't to me. I really appreciate being started down a new line of inquiry. Thanks again for telling us Ms Whitehead's story. It is just the spark I need today.
Joy
