Well, in the novel, she avoided Kocoum whenever she could. But of course in real life she could have had children by him. I wonder where the person who wrote the query on the Pocahontas List got the information about a son and a daughter? It might be worthwhile asking him/her about the source. Either they read the same novel I did, or they've got a historical source that it would be interesting to know about!
