In watching the Discovery Channel and Jamestown History then there was no mention of my John Dods and Jane Eagle Plume nor was the name of John Dods ever mentioned in this documentary. However the history was quite interesting. Since the documentary I have made contact with a history professor who did an extensive study of the settlers at Jamestown. He gave some insight as to why many think that Chief Eagle Plume was from Colorado when in fact he was not. When the Spaniards arrived at Va. then they met Indians of red skin; they named them Colorado as colorado in Spanish means the color red or reddish. (The American Heritage Larousse and Spanish Dictionary) I hope this will give someone else the correct information as the Eagle Plumes in the state of Colorado are another breed and not that of the group who were at Va. and under the chiefdom of Powhatan.
