Nancy Plue Snider was born 2 June 1806 and died 18 Oct 1875 according to her stone in Smith's Campground Church Cemetery in Dogwood, Webster township, Harrison Co., Indiana which I revisited yesterday morning. Husband Samuel Nelson Snider was born 18 Oct 1796 and died 29 June 1875 according to his stone next to hers. I know stones can be wrong. I have found other researchers listing her birthdate as 2 April 1806, her deathdate as 28 Oct 1897; and his birthdate as 10 Oct 1795 and 18 July 1796, and his deathdate as 29 Apr 1878. I know he was born in Friedland, a Moravian colony in North Carolina, son of Cornelius Schneider and Christina Ebert. I have from another researcher that Nancy Plue and Samuel Snider married in Stokes Co., N.C. 12 April 1823. I have not found their marriage record in Harrison Co., IN. in 1826. One researcher speculates Nancy's father may be the John Ply found in the 1820 census. I think there may be a kinship to the James Plue and William Plue who settled nearby in southern Harrison Co., IN. Just no proof yet.
