Hi Richard,
Thank you for looking at what I posted. I am pleased though to know that his birth was documented because it makes our job of doing research much easier.
In your message you have listed Abigail's name as Brisnmade. Is this a typo or is her maiden name actually Abigail Brinsmade? I just want to make sure my records are correct.
After making comparisons with the information you have given me, it is the same as my information expect for the place of birth for Jesse Hanford which you have listed as:
"One note, though: the Jesse Comstock that you mention in your posting, b. 23 November 1746, was probably born in NEW Canaan, Fairfield Co. Canaan, Connecticut, is in Litchfield County, on the Massachusetts border."
I think we are talking about the same person and that this Jesse in question is the son of Samuel Hanford and Dinah Comstock. This Jesse, in turn, married Mary Gorum and they had a son they named Jesse Hanford who was born in 25 December 1777. I hope this clears up some confusion.
I do look forward to coming to a Platt reunion in the future so I can meet other members of my extended family. It will take a bit of time to save for this though since I am a long distance away from Milford.
Kathleen
