Hello David and thank you for all the information you have posted on the Plasketts of the New Forest. We have a William Plaskett born 22 October 1742 at Lyndhurst, the son of a shoemaker. William and his brother were thought to be shoemakers too, but they went off to London just before the coronation of George III. William married Mary Jones whom he met at Little Prescott Meeting House. He was widowed after the birth of three children and later, at age 64, went to America for a few years and remarried in New York. I wonder if William fits onto your tree somewhere?
