Hi Jim, The De and Le always confuse me. I know that the De means-from and Le means-The. I guess it depends where they where living if they still lived in the Place from which they took the name whether the kept the De.

William Ligon married Mary Tanner 1 Apr 1679 Henrico Co., VA..(daughter of Joseph Tanner and Mary Browne).>
William Ligon married Elizabeth Batte (daughter of Capt. Henry Batte and Mary Lound.>
William Ligon married Ann Rogers(daughter of Robert Rogers and Susannah). {some say Ann Webber}.>
Susanna Ligon married Samuel Williams 22 Dec 1766 Amelia Co., VA.>
John Williams and Mary Lee (daughter of Joseph Lee and Nancy Anne Noel}
Frances Jane Williams married Philip Fritts(son of Henry Fritts son of Wooldrich Frederich Fritz of Lexington, NC.)
Frances and Philip Fritts are buried in the Walker Cemetery, behind the Rolla Airport. Rolla, MO.
