Marilyn,
I think you are certainly right to question Douglas Richardson's assertions in matters of controversy (he is sometimes owned by his ego), however in this instance he's spot-on.Nevertheless, a few prominent searchers still maintain databases that are in error on this matter.
In addition to the sources cited by contributors here, the Complete Peerage 1:22 (Cockayne, 1887) is unequivocal in stating that Gwladus Ddu was a daughter of the Princess Joan.
Both the Addenda/Corrigenda of CP (v. 14) and Chris Phillips' "Some corrections and additions to the Complete Peerage" http://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cp/index.shtmlhttp://www.medievalgenealogy.org.uk/cp/index.shtml make no corrections to the established evidence linking Gwladus to the Princess Joan.
I descend from the Lady Gwladus via three of her grandchildren: Isabella, Edmund and Isolde de Mortimer.
Regards,
Kevin
