I saw that obituary. It has run in the Tribune-Star in Terre Haute Indiana for the last few days. Why Terre Haute Indiana? Her picture is online. She is wearing a formal gown and a tiara and a fancy necklace.

I've been an Anglophile for most of my 68 years. Many, many Americans are descended from Edward I or Edward IV, including me, but I've never known anyone here (or anywhere) who used a title. I really don't know, but I would guess that if she's a princess, all of us are princes or princesses, too.

I think it was probably an affectation on her part. It probably gave her a great deal of pleasure.

I have a reporter friend who is a member of that church. I've written her to see what she knows.

I couldn't find HRH in the censuses. I haven't looked in England yet.
