John,

I'm sorry for the late response. I am definitely interested in the project since Plantagenet is one of my lines. I should think many others would be, too, because of its importance in English history; in fact, I'm surprised that so little has been done where living male representatives are both numerous and easily identified. Perhaps the reason is that we do know who they are, whereas most of the other famous DNA studies have involved mysteries researchers wished to solve or anomalies they sought to explain, such as the large number of men in western Ireland now believed to be descended from Niall of the Nine Hostages.

I saw your post at the Genealogy List this morning. Do you plan to wait for a response from Byran Sykes or do you want to write to some of the Somersets yourself?
