I am researching the descendants and ancestors of Mathias (aka Matthias) PLAKE (aka PLEAK, PLEAKENSTALVER, BLICK and BLICKER, among others). I believe there is a connection between this man and John PLEAK AND STALVER (1755), son of Johannes BLICKENSDOERFER (1726). His birthdate had to be about 1770-1775. He married Mily GOFF in 1794 in Clark CO, KY. He had several wives and about 22 children, of which are known: Hiram W. (1802), Jemima (ca. 1810), William (1814), and John Mathias (1810-1820). I suspect that there may have been daughters: Susannah, Rachel, Sally, Catherine, although they are entirely speculative at this time, having been married in Bartholomew CO, IN, where Matthias lived at the time of their marriages, and being apparently of the right age to have been his daughters. Searching to find the mother of my William PLAKE (1814). I have no information regarding the death of Mily GOFF. Nor can I document who was Matthias' wife at the time of his birth. I am interested to correspond with any descendants of this man, with particular interest, of course, in finding proofs of relationships of William's descent. Of even more importance to me is any evidence, circumstantial or documentable, of the relationship between Matthias PLEAK / PLAKE and John PLEAK AND STALVER (aka PLEAKANSTALVER, et al). Contact me here or privately at lsparlin@rollanet.org Happy to share what I have that is of interest to you. Linda PLAKE SPARLIN
