After re-examining the materials from the Thomaston Archives I now think that Thomas Pitts and William Pitts were two different people. It is likely that Thomas Pitts was a son of William and Nancy Pitts. Also it is likely that Nancy Tally was a daughter of William and Nancy Pitts and the wife of Payton Tally. Thanks, Alton
