Carol,I have seen somewhere that Daniel,Sr. at one time lived or owned land in Edgefield,SC, and that some of his children lived there. I also understand that his DNA line is Group II. My line through Martin Pitts is also Group II,and my Martin named a son Stanmore Butler Pitts after a leading citizen of Edgefield in the late 1700's. This leads me to believe that my Martin may have been raised in Edgefield and may have been a grandson of Daniel, Sr. Do you know enough about this Thomas to rule out the possibility that he was my Martin's father? Also, there was a Thomas or William Pitts in the Upson County, GA area in the 1830's who may have been a brother to Martin. Could they be sons of your Thomas? According to GENFORUM message #3699 a Thomas Pitts was killed by William Johnson in 1818 in Telfair County, GA. Does any of this relate to your Thomas? Thanks, Alton
