To clarify some family research, I need to locate the Pension Application for Elizabeth Griffin, widow of William Pitts d. 10 Feb 1778. If anyone has knowledge of where this could be located, please give me a lead. I've searched everywhere I know to locate this. It is readily referred to by researchers; however, no one can seem to provide the source. It is also being said that there is a DAR record that I can't seem to locate as well.
"James W. Pitts was the son of William Pitts, RS, b 1737 Isle of Wight, VA, d d 10 Feb 1778, Philadelphia, PA, where he was captured and killed by the British on date noted. William's wife Elizabeth Griffin b 1740 VA d 1835 VA."
