Hi Lee Roy,

I just saw your post and thought I'd write a quick hello from a distant cousin - I'm also a direct descendant from Jean Pitre, but my ancestors manages to stay in the Maritime Provinces until this very day.

My grandfather Robert9 (Augustin8, Augustin7, Rufus6, Joseph5, Jean-Baptiste4, Jean-Marc3, Marc2, Jean Pitre1), died in 1984, just as I was in my last year of Nursing, and my first year in the Canadian Forces, so your resume (on your website) sparked curiousities as to similar interests.

As for your book, congratulations! I was wondering if you had any new information in your book, as there is still so much controversy as to Jean Pitre's origins... what would your book offer that, say, this forum would not? Or perhaps researchers such as Stephen White's dictionary? Is this a more personal writing, rather than a genealogical tool? Please feel free to discuss your thoughts here, as I would be interested in hearing more.

Looking forward to chatting again, cousin!

JL
