I am seeking information on the parents, wife, and family of MICHAEL PITNER who first appears in the legal records of Wilson Co., TN, in a deed from William Thomas (of Wilson Co.)to MICHAEL PITNER "of Sumner County, 16 acres on Little Cedar Lick (Wilson Co., TN, Deed Book A, December 29, 1802, p. 306)
PITNER appears on the 1804 tax list in Wilson Co.
His next land transaction is Moses Jones JONES to MICHAEL PITNER, 15 acres on Cedar and Spencer Creeks. (Deed Book F, June 28, 1816, p. 176)
Then, Moses Jones to MICHAEL PITNER, at tract of land between Spencer's and Cedar Lick Creeks. (Deed Book H, August 11, 1820, p. 414).
PINTER sells to Thomas Hull a tract of 131 acres on Cedar Lick Creek. (Deed Book S, January 13, 1837, p. 571).
He appears in the 1820 census and in the 1830 census, he is listed as being 50-60 as is his wife, making them both born between 1760-70. In his household, were: one male and one female, 15-20; two females, 10-15; 1 male, 5-10, and one male under 5. (p. 98).
In the marriage bonds of Wilson Co., there are the following:
MONTGOMERY PITNER and Jane Wray, August 21, 1826, with WILLIAM PITNER, bondsman, and Edward Willis, MG, officiating.
W. PITNER was bondsman for William Johnson and Mary Rice,
March 7, 1827, with Rev. German Baker officiating.
LYDIA PITNER and James H. Dickens,September 19, 1829, with Norfleet B. Nelms, bondsman.
WILLIAM PITNER was bondsman for Thomas Bradshaw and Martha Thompkins, August 31, 1831.
