Daniel Pitner, Lawrence Co. PA?
Hi all --
I haven't posted in ages, as we've moved and my computer is still packed up. But the my gg grandfather Levi Howard Pitner seems to be prodding me to keep looking :-) and I can't help dropping a quick note...
Has anyone out there come across a Daniel Pitner? He was listed in the 1850 census for Lawrence Co. PA as being 23, occupation, blacksmith, with wife Hester, 23 and one child, Martha, age 1.
Levi was born about 1849, in Greene Co., Pennsylvania. He later became a blacksmith in WV panhandle. His family never made the southern migration that so many of the Pitner branches seemed to. He had two brothers (George Washington Pitner and John Smith Pitner, and one known sister, Hattie Pitner).
Since neither he nor his siblings are listed with Daniel and Hester, I don't have proof they are connected, but have seen another source where they ARE listed with Daniel and Hester as Levi, George, John, and Hattie's parents.
Now that I've made this thoroughly confusing, I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about this particular Pitner.
Thanks! Debbie
