Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

This is what I've got in my little Pitner database:

John Pitner, b. October 16, 1800 in Virginia, died December 4, 1855 in Whitfield Georgia, married January 26,, 1830 in Blount Tennessee, Sarah McGaugay who was born 1801 in Blount, Tennessee, died July 17, 1881 in Whitfield, GA.

John's father was Adam Pitner, born about 1766, son of the immigrant John Pitner, born abt 1740 in Coblentz-on-Rhine (see other discussions on his identity).

The only children I have for John and Sarah are a William Howard Pitner, born 1831, and a Harriet Amanda b. 1833. I'd be interested to know the dates on your Major T.H., and his progeny.
