I'm looking for information on Axie Pitman b.~ 1830. (daughter of Charles Pitman ,b.1/9/1796, d. 1/14/1854). I'm looking to tie her to her father. The Charles Pitman that exactly matches these b. and d. dates is none other than the Rev. Charles Pitman, DD the famous Methodist Preacher and elder from the NJ Conference and involved in the Methodist Churches in PA, NY, and DE areas for whom Pitman NJ was named. I was able to obtain a copy of the book The Life, Labors, and Sermons of Rev. Charles Pitman, DD, by C.A. Malmsbury. In the book there is no mention of any daughters. The book only mentions his family on about five pages out of 352. I thought that it was possible that his daughter was not mentioned because either she had married out of his will or because she ended up divorced. I have found Axie Mimm (and her second husband Howard who according to our info she married after divorcing Samuel Beamer) in Philly in the 1870 census. Samuel (17) was living with them. No Beamers are listed but I'm sure this is my gg grandfather Samuel H. Beamer according to the other information wI have. Any help would be appreciated. Steve Notify Administrator about this message?
