Since your posting was from over a year ago you may have learned this information already. There are two families named Pitchford living in West Hoboken, NJ (now Union City). One family head is Andrew on Monastery Street (now Monastery Place) and the other family head is John on Highpoint Avenue (now 22nd Street). They are only two blocks away from each other. They may be brothers because the census records say they were born in NY and the father was English and the mother Irish. I grew up in John's house which was built in 1900 and was just curious to see who lived in the house at the time. I found them in the 1900 cenus in the same general area and in 1910-1930 at the locations above. Turns out the family lived there at least into the 30's (John's daughter Alice is on a passenger list in 1935 for a trip to Bermuda still showing the same address.) Are these the people you've been looking for? I was trying to find out if they were the family who sold the house to my parents?
