Elisha Pitcher;
My grandfather was William Pitcher He lived in Barbados. I do not know what work he did. He was related to Herbert Manning who had a 750 acre plantation called Westmoreland in Barbados. Herbert was in partnership with two siblings who were from England. The connection was thru a marriage in the 1800s. first name eludes me) Pitcher married a Manning. That Pitcher was also related to my Father.
William Pitcher married Kathleen Edghill of Barbados. They had three daughters and a son. Son John Henry Gordon Pitcher was born in 1907. I found William, Kathleen & son passed thru Ellis Island when my dad was 18 months old.
My grandfather had a brother Clarence Pitcher who was in the lumber business in Barbados in the 1920s. I do not know if Clarence had any relatives, but maybe, because my first cousin's daughter (mulatto) attended U of Florida and met a Harry Pitcher from Orlando FL & Trinidad West Indies ?. They visited Barbados together and she discovered he was a relative.
You indicate your relative was from Barbados - perhaps we are related.

Gordon G Pitcher, Tampa FL
