You have traced you line much farther back than I have. I have been"stuck" with my great-grandfather, Alfred Pitcher, who was born on July 3l, 1851 in Norwich(according to his death certificate). He came to the US in 1886 with his wife, Mary Ann(Palang?) and infant daughter, Gertrude(Oct. 1885). My grandfather, Alfred, was born on December 4, 1886, in New York. Several people from the Norfolk Mailing LIst (have you tried this list?), looked him up for me in the 1851 Census, but unfortunately, he was born after the census was taken. One person found an Alfred Pitcher, age 31, unmarried, born in Weasenham, living with his 60 year old parents (Robert and Mary) in Snettisham 1881 Census. I am trying now to verify this and get a copy of his Birth Certifcate. I am sure of his birthday since it is the same on several records. This is where I am at this point. There are several people, as I mentioned, on the Norfolk Surname interests lists tracing Pitcher lines. I believe there is also the Suffolk List on the "Net", also.
Oh, by the way, I live in SUFFOLK County (Long Island), New York. Very odd!
Good Luck with your hunting.
