I am origionally from Newfoundland, Now living in New York, and just starting to research the family tree. My Grandfather, Joe Pitcher, is from Hopeall, Newfoundland, and moved to Stephenville to work on the American Airforce base there. I am keenly interested to learn about immigration of Pitchers to Newfoundland. Preliminary research shows origin in Dorset. Any help as to how to get started?
