My husband's ggrandfather was Charles LeRoy Pitcher, 1869-1947, married to Mary Melissa Warner. His father was Otis Pitcher (Civil War Vet) found on Town of Palermo, Oswego Cty census. I have a newsclip from 1943 of a Maynard F. Pitcher during the war, then his marriage in 1944 to Eva Mary Watson in England. They both state he is the son of Peter Pitcher. These clips were in my husband's grandmother's (Eva Quigg Pitcher) scrapbook. Don't know his connection, do you?
