John Jacob Berkel, Sr Abt. 1724 The Palatinate, The Holy Roman Empire Dorothea \\ Abt. 1704 are his parents. His grandparents are: Hans Jacob Birkle, I Abt. 27 Jun 1705 Anna Barbara \\ Abt. 1706 His Great-Grandparents Michael Birkle 1679 and Maria Willmann. This is correct. Great-Great-Grandparents are Jacob Birkle Abt. 1659 and Maria Imberi before that is Mathis Birkle Abt. 1639 then before that is Hans Birkle abt 1575. The Birklehof had been the Birkle family farm for generations. The official records in Hinterzarten** still survive, and we are, therefore, able to trace our family lineage back to the Sixteenth Century. The earliest Birkle entry listed is NN* Birkle with two sons, Adam Birkle and Hans Birkle 1575.
