According to the book "The Pirkles and their Descendants In the U.S.A." by Cagle and Pirkle it states on page 196 that Jesse, son of John and Charity Dibbs Pirkle was born Jan. 30, 1780 in North Carolina; married Margaret _____. Jesse spelled his name Pirtle.

Margaret was born Aug. 7, 1779, died May 2, 1849. Jesse died Dec. 30, 1855, Valeene, Orange Co., Indiana. Both are buried at Rock Spring Cemetery, Southeast (Twp) Orange County, Indiana.

There are documents showing Jesse received land in the division of his father's (John) property and also showing his buying the other brothers parts. These are on record in North Carolina. Jesse's will is on record at Orange County Courthouse, Paoli, Indiana, dated Dec. 27, 1855 and was duly executed Jan. 15, 1856.

Children: Charlotte, Mar. 5, 1806, married John Moon; Sarah, Oct. 22, 1809, married John E.
