Source: Dictionary of Louisiana Biography Volume II F 369 .D48 1988 David Washington Pipes, born New Orleans on August 6, 1886 was son of David Washington Pipes Sr. and Anna Fort. Education: private and public schools in Clinton, LA; Washington and Lee, B.A. 1906. Admitted VA Bar, 1908., LL.B 1910 and admitted LA Bar. David W. Pipes married Mary Louise Minor, daughter of Henry Chotard Minor and Anna Louise Butler, 1910. Issue: David W. Pipes III, Anna Fort, Henry Minor, John Butler, Katherine Minor, Mary Minor, Margaret Gustine. David Washington Pipes managed one plantation, the Sundown Plantation, then, Pipes moved to Houma, LA in 1915 to manage the H.C. Minor Estate which included numerous plantations. The Sundown Plantation was one of these numerous family plantations. For additional information please refer to the book via the call number which I have provided.
