Hi John Stevens,
Have you had luck locating the maiden name of Hannah (_____) Piper?
I'm not descended of the Piper-Stevens marriage, but am research the family of Jonathan Clark of Rumney, whose daughter, Sarah (b. 1783, Rumney NHVR) was "Sarah Piper" in a declaration that was submitted for her father's Rev. War Pension. [file no. S 45,680] There was no date on the declaration; I estimate 1829.
Rumney births [NHVR] has three children recorded born to Samuel Piper and wife Sarah [FS; digital images]
Nathaniel Green Piper, 01 Mar 1809
Rumney
Elbridge Gerry Piper, 16 Aug 1811
Rumney
Abi Wilson Piper, 21 Feb 1813
Rumney
Have done a little tracing, somewhat following leads posted to GenForum by one normand dewolfe. Have located several census reports. At 1850 and 1860, and elderly Sarah Harris resides with Elbridge. As Rumney has an 1835 marriage for Sarah Piper to Jeremiah Harris, this may be otherwise Sarah (Clark) (Piper) Harris. She died at Wapole, Mass in 1864 [MAVR].
I will keep searching for a maiden name on Hannah. Hope this information is of value to your research. --GeneJ
