Searching for ancestors of Benjamin Pinney and Cordelia Pinney Johnson. Listing in 1860 Federal Census, Dunbarton post office, Meigs Twp., Adams Co., Ohio, Family # 707, shows Benjamin Pinney and family as follows: Benjamin was b. abt. 1825, in Connecticut, he married Rachel ?, abt.1849-1850 in Ohio, she was b. abt. 1830 in Ohio Children of Benjamin and Rachel: Elisabeth E., b. abt. 1851 in Ohio Eliza C., b. abt. 1854 in Ohio Mary, b. abt. 1856 in Ohio Charles W., b. abt. 1858 in Ohio Benjamin’s father possibly was B. Pinney (could be Benjamin also?) born in New York about 1780. There was a B. Pinney listed in the above mentioned census with Benjamin and Rachel. B’s occupation was shoemaker and there was a Sarah Pinney, b. abt. 1795 in Ohio living with the family also. I have found a marriage record of a Sarah Crawford marrying a Benjamin Pinney in Adams County, Ohio in 1848. Benjamin’s sister possibly was Cordelia Pinney/Peany Johnson b. about 1820 in Connecticut, m. Henry Johnson possibly between 1838-1848 in Pennsylvania. Henry was born in Pennsylvania. Their daughter Sarah Ann Johnson, b. 6 May 1857 m. Franklin Pierce Hazelbaker abt. 1874 in Adams County, Ohio. Cordelia’s father was also born in New York. I am trying to connect these people, but so far only have suppositions and no real facts. If anyone knows of Pinneys who started in New York, went to Connecticut, then to Pennsylvania, then to Ohio, please contact me. I need help!!!! Notify Administrator about this message?
