I made a mistake on Lydia's parents (right father, wrong mother).
Eliza Strong (1801-1828) was Azariah Pinney's (1804-?)first wife and died before Lydia Dorcas (1837-1878) was born. Lydia was the product of a second marriage to Eunice Sloper (25 Jan 1813- 12 Jul 1879). Lydia Dorcas Pinney married Lewis Beach Barkalow (1831-1884)in Johnson Co.,IA. on 24 Dec 1868. They are both buried in the Overman Cemetery, Atalissa,IA. In the 1870 census for Goshen Township, Muscatine, IA., Lewis, Lydia, and a son William show up. In the 1880 census for the same area, Lewis and son Derrick George (1875-1944)(my ggrandfather)show up (no William). Derrick George Barkalow married Beulah Etta Wilson (1884-1970) in Los Angeles,CA.in 1906.
