Lottie Grant was the third wife of my uncle, Erastus Pinner. They lived and are buried, in Welaka in Putnam County, Fla. According to the newspaper, a big celebration for the fishing industry had been planned the day that Lottie died. She and Erastus were held in such high regard in the community, that the celebration was post-poned. Erastus died in August of 1960. They are in Oakwood Cemetery.Erastus was a commercial fisherman on the St. John's River. He was born in Georgetown, Florida, about seven miles south of Welaka. His father had a citrus grove there on the east side of the St. John's River. It was frozen in the 1895 freeze and except for Erastus, the family moved south to a warmer Polk County, Florida.
His parents, (my grand parents) were Arthur A. Pinner and Elizabeth Chancey. Granddad A. A. Pinner was a grandson of William Pinner, a son of Arthur Pinner of Horry County, South Carolina.
I would like to know more about Lottie for my Pinner history book.If you will, please write me at my e-mail address.
