I don't know who the common ancestor is, but I wanted to post the little I know about my Pinnells in Saline Co. in the hopes that someone else might be able to link up.
Wiley Pinnell is listed on the 1850 Census in Curran Precinct, Saline Co., IL as being 51 and from South Carolina. His wife Peggy, 50, from Kentucky.Children, all born in Illinois: Harmon, 20, Westley, 18, Wiley G., 16, Peter A or H, 14, Nancy, 12, Martin C., 10, and Ambrose, 8.Harmon H. Pinnell is my ancestor, he married Nancy MCCOY April 2, 1857 in Saline Co, and had Mariar Melinda Pinnell October 1865 in IL.She went on to marry John Lemuel REESE, 27 March 1890 in Texas Co., MO.
I have also found the older Wiley, head of the household above, on the 1840 IL Census Index in Gallatin Co., Carran Precinct, and on the 1860 IL Census Index in Saline Co., Eldorado P.O.
