Maybe uncle Clarence to you but grandfather to me
Hello my name is Eric Joseph Pinkston and I am 95% sure my grandfather's name was Clarence Pinkston who fathered his youngest child, my father in 1953 and two other children prior to that in Orange Park, FL, right outside of Jacksonville. My father had two older siblings named Gary and Mary, the latter being quite a common family name. His wife, and my grandmother died in 1983, four years before I was born so I do not have a name for her.He fought in WWII and Korea and moved the family around quite often during the 50's and 60's.Last thanksgiving my uncle Gary Pinkston, introduced me to a very well researched book on our families genealogy that he assembeled as a gift to all the maturing adults in the Pinkston-McDeed family (my uncle's wife's maiden name) and nothing they taught me in school was half that fascinating. After skimming some of the entries on this website it was not the first time I had traced my grandfather back to the names of Theodore Alodous and Francis King and the counties of Marion in Kentucky and Lowcombe in Georgia. My grandfather last resided on Pinkston Rd in Williston, FL and was laid to rest 12-15 years ago in a cemetery just outside of Gainesville, FL with his loving wife. From seeing all the names and contributors to this site my grandfather's existence must be fresh in someones head, let's face it we're a pretty bright bunch us Pinkstons.I also wish to inform yall that i am in the process of getting in touch with my uncle about some of the mysteries regarding our ancestry hoping he might have gathered some knowledge during his genealogical crusade several years ago.I am looking foward to reading some responses regarding the future insight into my grandparent's short yet fulfilled life here on earth.Thank you for your time and patience, i greatly appreciate it.ERIC J PINKSTON (1986-present)
