Marcia, Andrew Pinkstaff was indeed given a land grant from the US government for his service during the Revolution. It is located in Lawrence Co. in Illinois., slightly northwest of the county seat, Lawrenceville. It is still farmland, and much of it is still owned by descendents of Andrew, including myself. (My father Rober's mother was Edith Pinkstaff, daughter of CH Pinkstaff. There is a tiny town there, called Pinkstaff as well. It used to have a few stores, a postoffice, and a small train station, but they've been gone for 50 years.

Andrew Pinkstaff, and many of his descendents are buried in the east Pinkstaff cemetary, which is only accessable by foot, and is well off the public gravel road.

Hope you find this info helpful.
