Desc. of David Pinkerton, d. 1808 who mar. Bryans
I currently am researching seven Pinkerton intermarriages into my Bryan line (five intermarriages), into my wife's Schmutz line (one intermarriage) - all descendants of David Pinkerton, d. 1808 and his wife Betsy, d. 1805.I am also researching Samuel Pinkerton of Davidson County, TN - relationship unknown to David and Betsy Pinkerton (assumed to be related to the other five Bryan intermarriages). Some of these connections are speculative.
More can be found at my web site:http://www.rcasey.net/bryan/brystart.htmhttp://www.rcasey.net/bryan/brystart.htm where 7,500 Bryans are documented.
David Pinkerton, d. 1808 mar. Betsy who d. 1805
son - David Pinkerton, b. 1787, d. 1842, mar. Jane Bryan, 1810 in Davidson County, TN.This line is well established and my web site has several hundred descendants charted.
son - Joseph Pinkerton, d. 1822, may have mar Elizabeth Bryan, 1821, Davidson County, TN.They probably did not have any children, Elizabeth Pinkerton nee Bryan, b. 1790, is found later Davidson County, TN as a widow. This connection is pretty speculative as there are other Joseph Pinkertons residing in Davidson County, TN after Joseph Pinkerton (son of David and Betsy Pinkerton) died in 1822.
son - James Pinkerton, d. 1840, mar. Mary Foster
-gson - David Pinkerton, mar. Celia Barnes
--ggson - David C. Pinkerton, mar. Elizabeth Banning
---gggson - David Thomas Pinkerton, b. 1849, mar. Elizabeth Allen, dau of Samuel Allen and Margaret Taylor, gdau Nathan Allen and Telitha Doyle who may or may not be the son of Thomas Allen and Margaret Bryan. We now believe that Nathan is probably not the missing Bible entry record that fit so well - and this line may not be Bryan related. However, this line is well documented and researched by others.
--ggson - Wiley Estes Pinkerton, mar. Sarah Allen, possible dau of John Allen and Sarah Bell, gdau of Thomas Allen and Margaret Bryan - speculative connection here.
-gdau - Mary Pinkerton, b. 1792, VA mar. William David Allen, son of Thomas Allen and Margaret Bryan, pretty solid connection on this line.
-gson - James F. Pinkerton, mar. Hannah Marshall
--ggson - John Foster Pinkerton, mar. Sarah Wetsek
---gggson - Burk Lincoln Pinkerton, mar. Rosa Schmutz in Ohio - almost certainly connected to my wife's Schmutz lines - this name is quite uncommon in Ohio.
Another possible Pinkerton connection is Samuel Pinkerton who lived in Davidson County, TN.A 1909 letter of Wash Bryan indicates that a dau of Samuel Bryan, d. 1832 in Davidson County, TN mar. Sam Pinkerton. There are 1820, 1844, 1850 deeds of Samuel Pinkerton in Davidson County, TN.In 1850, Samuel Pinkerton purchased from the estate of Henry M. Bryan, son of Samuel Bryan. In 1850, the estate papers of Henry m. Bryan indicate that Samuel Pinkerton was the guardian of Eliza Orton, minor, dau of Polly Orton (dau of Samuel Bryan). This Samuel Pinkerton is surely related in some way to our Bryan line and is probably related to the line of David Pinkerton, d. 1808 as well.
Would love to add more Pinkerton / Bryan descendants to my web site or exchange information on these lines.
