I am searching for information on Issac Piner who married a Susie Ward. Isaac was a full blood indian of cherokee tribe. Susie was supposed to be Indian also. They are my stopping place. One of their children was Mary Isabelle Piner b. June 22, 1862 in Madison Co. Mary is burried in Grenola, KS. Mary Piner married twice. First: John Ball with six children from that marriage. William Levi Ball b. 1885, Becky Hull, Susie Emeline b. 1883, Mary Lydia Jamison, Jacole Ashbury, Mintor Sylvester Ball, and possibly a Benjamin b. 1891. Second marriage: Rufus Thomas Johnson b.1846. Rufus had 8 children from his first marriage. Rufus and Mary Piner/Ball/Johnson had four more children: Adelia Dorsey, Daisy Ledbetter(my grandmother), Mark Johnson, George Johnson. The Piner's came from the east to Arkansas. Maybe from MS, NC or Hawkins co. TN? No one really knows. Mary was raised by neighbors. A story: her uncle Jim came by on horse and rescued her. She never went back...so she stayed with a Uncle Jim??? Must be a Piner or Ward. Her mother was Susie Ward. No birth date. Any info greatly appreciated! Thank you! HPilgrim1@aol.com
