I appreciate your responding to my queries about my great-grandmother, Nancy Piner. The information I have been able to gather about her has been from people like you. She is a mystery. I can only surmise that Matilda, Nancy's mother, died in childbirth. Where? What happened to David? Nancy was raised by her step-sister, Sarah Missouri Jones Piner. When Nancy died, Sarah raised Epsie, the last child of Nancy and Ninnian, in Fannin County. I spent a day recently at the Dallas Public Library. I did find land patents for Stephen Piner in Calloway County and Dade County Missouri. Not much else that I didn't alread know. Such an interesting set of ancestor, we have!
