I have an article I found in a book at the NC archives in Raleigh. It has a lot of info., if you would like me to mail you a copy send me your address @ [email protected]
I have been researching the Pinegar family for 2 years and have found Flinchum's to be a big part of it.Robert/Mary's daughter Katherine married Peter Pinegar in 1807, Samuel Flinchum married Susannah Pinegar in 1817.
This is a paragraph from the article:
William Flinchum married Mary Flinchum (about 1806-Dec 1893), presumably a daughter of Thomas, in 1826.They lived most of their lives in the Buck Island area, but moved to Pilot district of Surry about 1854 as did many other family members.Census returns suggest they had a daughter Margaret born about 1831, perhaps the Margaret Flinchum who married John W. Allen in 1855, and possibly others. But they mentioned no children in their wills and Mary left her property to "friend" John S. Flinchum (a son of Matthew).
