Hi Marylou!
I can't believe it's been over a year since my genealogy trip to Lee County, where I met you at the Rowlett's.

I hope your mom is better now. I also do caregiving, so I know how it is with trying to find time to do genealogy.

I would love to have a copy of the photos you are speaking of. I'm also curious about what you mentioned about Rachel Pillion being unmarried and dying in the poorhouse. I wonder if we are thinking of the same Rachel? James, Wylie, Samuel and Will Marcum were brothers from their dad Arch Marcum's first marriage. Rachel, Sarah and Alice were the offspring from Arch's second marriage. This Rachel Marcum married a Pillion. Her sister Sarah married a Pillion also. In fact, they were Pillion brothers, so the 2 Pillion brothers married the 2 Marcum sisters. Maybe they meant she was widowed or not married by the time she went to the poorhouse?

But I'm wondering if you might be talking about Rachall Pillion - the grandmother of Rachel, Sarah and Alice? Because I don't think she was ever married. I would LOVE to know if this is her, as I've never been able to find out anything at all about her.

Also, I'm glad you wrote, because I have something to tell you. In some things that were found in my aunt's closet in "the old house" were some old photos that included some of your dad from the WW-II days! They are labeled James Campbell on the back, and I'm sure it's him, as he looks just like the photo in the Campbell Family History book that Donnie Campbell wrote. There were also some old letters in there he wrote to my aunt. My uncle has most of these things, and he said he would have to go through the photos and get those out and send them to you. He felt you would want to have them, and should have them. There are lots of photos of him in military uniform. He appears to be in Germany in some of them.

I tell you what - here's my e-mail address: Please send me an answer to this through this address. Then we can swap mailing addresses and other info off-line. When you answer this, please let me know the name of the person you spoke to who told you about Rachel Pillion, o.k.? I'd love to find out more. I'm curious to see if it's someone I've already met or not. And don't forget the photos! I'd love to see them too!

Take care,
