After years searching for a Davis born in Buxton, ME, I had a brick wall tumble down. Cause to celebrate, except now I have another task, as it looks like there MAY be a connection to the Mayflower for my husband. Missing link is in the middle of a chain between Ebenezer Gorham (1695) and the sons of Daniel Davis, b. 1801 Buxton, York Co.ME, d. after census of 1850 in Berlin, Coos Co. NH. Daniel was the s/o Sylvanus and Hanna Davis. (Hanna's name sometimes listed as Gorham, but no proof of this.)

I need full name of wife of Daniel Davis; 1860 census (Coos Co. NH) gives name as Sarah, born in VT. Even more important, I need names of Daniel Davis' children. They were born between 1820-1835.

Any help much appreciated. Will settle for clues to good sources for marriage and birth records in Buxton, ME. Happy to share. Feel free to click on my name and contact me via email at address listed on this site.
