my wife has an ancestor who was born in America the son of one named GEOGH WHO IS REPUTED TO have been on the Mayflower. THIS SON, NAMED WILLIAM, RAN AWAY TO SEA, HE SPENT SOME TIME IN INDIA BEFORE SETTLING DOWN IN SOUTH AFICA WITH HIS NAME CHANGED TO GOFF. HIS PARENTS LIVED IN MAINE.
