It appears from census records, etc., that Warren Ford was born in New York, the son of William Francis Ford (who also went by Francis W. Ford) b. 9-17-1893 Philadelphia, PA and his wife, Emma, b. 7-20-1898 NY. William Francis Ford seems to be the son of Elwood R. Ford b. 4-01-1863 PA; d. after 1930 Census, and his wife Mary H., b. Nov. 1866 PA; d. after 1930 Census. Elwood's wife, Mary H, may have been Mary H. McMahon, as the 1910 census shows Elwood's single sister-in-law is Katherine A McMahon, a few years younger than his wife, Mary H. Both Katherine and Mary report that they were born in Pennsylvania but their parents were born in Ireland, making it likely that they are sisters.
In the 1920 census, Elwood is reported as Edward, but probably this is the correct family based on other similarities. Such mistakes happen in the census records. (Note that in the 1920 Census, the family lives on Palmer Avenue. William Francis Ford reports that he lives on Palmer Avenue in WWI Draft Registration Cards 1917-18.)
There are two Elwood Fords in the 1870 Census records, but the one born about 1863 matches with his reported DOB in the 1900 Census. His father is Jesse and his mother is Sidney. In the 1880 Census, the corresponding family member is shown as E.R. Ford; the middle initial matches that of Elwood in the 1900 and 1910 census records.
