I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF RICHARD WASHINGTON PILGREEN,BUT MY FAMILY IS ALSO FROM PITT COUNTY,AND HAVE THE LAST NAME PILGREEN.I WAS TOLD THAT MY GREAT GRAND FATHER WAS PART INDIAN SO MY GUESS IS THAT IT IS AN INDIAN NAME.MY GREAT GRAND FATHER WAS CALL MACK PILGREEN. I NEVER HEARD OF HIS PARENTS OR SIBBINGS,JUST A FIRST COUSIN OR NEPHEW NAME BASS PILGREEN.WE ARE A MIXED RACE AND ARE FROM THE PACTOLUS AREA,IN N.C.AND PITT COUNTY AREA.MAYBE I WAS OF SOME HELP.DID YOU COME ACROSS A MACK PILGREEN IN YOUR SEARCH OR ANY OF HIS RELATIVES ?HE HAD TO BE BORN IN THE LATER PARTS OF THE 1800"S.CAN YOU HELP ME?
