I believe from a very old family Bible my mother has that it was Salathia (sp) Pyles. They were Irish. Lewis is my Great Grandfather. His daughter Lillian which is my GrandMother. His last daughter Louise died about 3 yrs ago. I have that story of the explosion many times. I have been to the graves. They are located at Primitive Baptist Church which still stands today on Armstrong Rd. Story goes that Mary saw a Dove that morning outside her window aith glowing red eyes and warned John to be careful that day. She felt she was given a sign that something terrible was going to happen. My mother actualy has a portrait of John and Mary in her home.
