Stephenson's unit began their march on 17 July from Falling Springs near Shepherdstown. If William Pile/Pyle caught up on the 17th, it was on the first day of the march... Wolfe's Tavern was apt to be fairly close to home... VA like as not.

As best I can sort out, most of the records pertain to the William Pile b. ca. 1755 who began as ensign in Capt Stephenson's unit and was captured at Ft Washington, who married Lucretia Keyes, and ended up in Breckinridge Co, KY living near son, Edward.

Would very much like to exchange documentation. I have just re-started the business of chasing records in Va/WVa.
