PYGOTT family, Yorkshire, UK

Seek all possible information concerning the PYGOTT family, in and around DONCASTER and SHEFFIELD areas of the UK. My grandfather was Alfred Edward PYGOTT, loco. driver with the LNER at Doncaster shed. My Grandmother was Margaret JEW. Their children were Hubert and Eileen Winifred (my mother) died 1971. Believe surname may have been spelled differently before my Granfather's generation. Is there an Irish or possibly French line (PIGEOT, PIGEOTTE) ??

Hubert Pygott ran a hardware shop in St. Neots, UK into the 1970s.
